- Make sure you are not in danger, read safety and information notices, check tide times; do not get cut off by an incoming tide.
- Beware of larger than usual waves if you are on rocks near the waters edge, this is an especially dangerous location for young children.
- Watch children in your care continuously.
- It can be dangerous to take inflatables into the sea.
- Do not swim:
- If you do not feel well
- For at least an hour after meals
- After drinking alcohol
- When lifeguard patrolled beaches have a red flag flying
- On high ground keep away from the cliff edge.
Also:
- Please do not remove sea weed from rocks, take home shells with creatures still in them, do not remove rocks and pebbles from the beach area.
- Please remove all litter and take it with you to dispose of safely and hygienically.
Lifeguards - Seasonal
Where beach facilities indicate seasonal Lifeguard cover, this is usually from late May until mid September. Check these dates at visitor centres and on beach notices.
Dog Ban - Seasonal
Where beach facilities indicate a seasonal Dog Ban, this is usually from Easter until late September. Check these dates at visitor centres and on beach notices.
